Fellowship House Executive Director

Fellowship House is a Christian ministry based at 1722 South Broadway in Camden, New Jersey, with a mission of helping to bring children and adults into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. To this end, Fellowship House is maintained as a place for spiritual, moral, educational, physical, social and recreational activities and as a center for helping to meet the many needs of the immediate community. These services are extended to all without regard to religious affiliation.

The Executive Director manages all Fellowship House services and operations, including administrative, volunteer and client activities, and assists with financial management, fundraising and public relations. The Executive Director reports to the Fellowship House Board of Trustees and with the Board is responsible for ensuring that Fellowship House realizes its mission. The Executive Director should be a person of faith who is in harmony with the mission’s doctrinal statement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Board of Trustees, staff, clients and supporters to administer and manage Fellowship House programs.
  • Develop the budget, monitor and approve authorized spending, and communicate budget issues to Trustees and Board Finance Committee. Plan, staff, direct and evaluate program services to meet mission goals. Communicate to staff, the short and long term goals and Board directives as appropriate. Hire, train and supervise staff and evaluate staff performance. Create and maintain best practices to attract, retain and recognize compassionate staff and volunteers.

  • Communicate and promote the work of Fellowship House to current and potential supporters in writing (via newsletters, computer technologies, donation acknowledgment letters, etc) and verbally.
  • Oversee the physical facilities and related staff responsibilities.

  • Cultivate broad based church and other faith-based interdenominational support. Collaborate with church and community groups to strengthen relationships with religious and faith communities; ethnic/ cultural entities; health and human service providers; and business, education and neighborhood groups. With the Board of Trustees, develop and implement public relations and communication strategies to support program goals and increase community awareness of programs.
  • Assist, initiate, and lead fundraising activities including acquisition of new donors, corporate support, special events and grants. Establish and plan with Board Development Committee, long term goals and plans for the ministry.

  • Monitor trends, legislation and regulations that are relevant to the program’s mission and make program and advocacy recommendations to the Board and its committees.

Salary range: $35,000-$45,000 (plus benefits)
